COSMIC BIOLOGY, MANDALAS , & PLANETARY SEALS

October 8th 2021 - November 7th 2021

Consciousness, life and form are the three guiding principles of creation that underly the vast cosmic, planetary stages of our world’s becoming and continuous evolution. Throughout the ages and across all spiritual traditions people have striven to make these living, creative forces  visible in sacred symbols or geometric configurations to serve as gateways for the contemplation of the activity of the divine. Rooted in Buddhism, mandalas are a symbol of the universe that communicate guiding principles and overall ideas about the cosmos or deities in various heavenly worlds. The seven planetary seals by Rudolf Steiner are a depiction of the creative forces of the planetary becoming of the earth and the powerful streams within each. Circle, reflective and rotational geometry underly the construction of the mandalas and seals that are portals to human consciousness and communicate the refinement of substances.

The cosmic biology series in pastels and embroidery by Kelly Beekman is a contemporary contemplation and study of Rudolf Steiner’s Cosmic Memory and his lectures on the Spiritual Hierarchies.

This exhibit invites the viewer into a quiet space of contemplative inquiry. Leaving a hurried world outside new ideas might blossom inside.
