Lightforms Art Center will be hosting a show Facing the Unknown-Imagination in the time of Pandemic from January 8th 2021, to April 3rd 2021.  Completely new in recent history, the pandemic has created a never before experienced inner and outer environment with its great loss of life, mourning those we have lost, the disappearance of livelihoods, homes and meaningful, close interactions with others. Great shortcomings of services in our society have been uncovered. We have been seismically shifted into isolation where we miss the close bonds to those we love and experience an especially stymied cultural life that usually sustains our whole well-being.

On the flip side of the coin some families have spent more time with each other, people have drawn more within and left an often too busy life behind, have found sustenance by turning to meditation, nature, reading and artistic pursuits that have turned the pandemic into a positive vessel for change. How are artists finding a way to grow through these times of isolation, uncertainty, death and new perceptions of our social connections and issues in this time of great duress? Are there channels of light that have opened up? Or slivers of hope that have drifted through the currents of our lives? Or wings of hope that lift us out and above the current situation for a distanced survey?

The work in this show has been created in 2020 and allows for a glimpse into the imaginative process of the artists and how it serves as a much-needed refuge within which to weave a new web of spiritual, inner and outer connection.
