Massimo Hamilton

Massimo Hamilton has grown up beside the Roeliff Jansen Kill in Columbia County, New York. He attended Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School, where Martina Mueller encouraged his artistic pursuits. His “Trout Rising” collage was the 2019 recipient of the Columbia Count Fair’s grand prize for student artwork. He has also created promotional artwork for Trout Unlimited Teens. Massimo is currently studying Human Ecology at The College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine. This is his first showing in a gallery.

Artist’s Statement

I consider myself first a fly fisherman and keen observer of nature, and secondly, an artist. In these watercolors, I have tried to capture the solace and peace that I find at some of my favorite fishing locations in the Hudson Valley and beyond.
